Metoc and Marine Cables - What We Do
Conceptual:
Feasibility studies and Risk audits at the critical early stages of a project to evaluate the key issues to be faced in engineering, consenting and contracting.
Design:
Detailed route selection, integrating the consent and engineering issues to reduce risks and cost. This work is underpinned by environmental assessments and permitting, management of site investigations (Metoc has substantial knowledge of survey contracts, technical specifications, and the survey contractors operating worldwide), metocean and geological design criteria, depth of burial assessments, coastal process modelling, and geospatial planning. |
Installation:
Assistance in tender preparation and evaluation to minimise ambiguities and information gaps which could lead to increased risk and substantial contracting contingencies. Supervision of the marine and shore-end installations to ensure appropriate management or variations and reduce reputation risk
Maintenance:
Support includes crossing agreements, regular cable surveys, geospatial database development, and advice on the planning and execution of emergency cable repairs.
